Northern China's Shanxi province delivered 38.01 TWh of electricity out of the province in the first three months of this year, soaring 16.7% year on year, showed data from State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company.
This has set a record high in its outbound electricity delivery for the same period.
The flexible power trading mechanism and rapid growth of the province's electricity network are the two main factors contributing to this remarkable increase.
Through cross-provincial spot trading, Shanxi's provincial grid raised digestion capacity by 3.7 GW of renewable energy in the first quarter, delivering 350 TWh over the period.
Shanxi was actively working to further expand its power transmission capacity in 2022. It delivered 146.4 TWh last year to 22 other province-level regions, up 18.55% year on year, the company said.
Since 2012, Shanxi has built and put into operation four channels for outbound power transmission, said the company.
