China State Railway Group delivered 398 million tonnes of power coal during January-March 2023, rising 13% year on year, in response to the country's supply guarantee request for the winter heating period.
The company shipped a total of 537 million tonnes of coal during the first quarter, 3.4% higher compared with the year-ago level.
By the end of the quarter, power coal stocks held by the 363 power plants directly supplied by railway across the country could cover 24.4 days' worth of usage, keeping at relatively a high level, the company said.
The combined cargo shipments by the railway group reached 970 million tonnes during the first three months, up 2.3% from the year-ago level.
In the second quarter, China State Railway Group will actively serve the needs of economic and social development and people's livelihood, continuously provide strong transportation support to the supply of products, and make new and greater contributions to the continued overall improvement of economic operation.
