China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, saw its polyolefin production rise 4.8% on the year and 12% month on month to 131,000 tonnes in March, the company said in a report on April 12.
The polyolefin sales in the month rose 16.7% year on year and 5.3% month on month to 140,000 tonnes.
Polyethylene sales were 70,000 tonnes, up 12.9% year on year yet down 5.4% month on month. Sale of polypropylene rose 20.7% from a year ago and 18.6% from a month ago to 70,000 tonnes.
The production of polyethylene and polypropylene was 67,000 tonnes and 64,000 tonnes, respectively.
The company produced 140,000 tonnes of urea in March, down 20.5% year on year and 13% month on month, and urea sales surged 37.9% on the year and 17.6% on the month to 240,000 tonnes.
In March, the company produced 171,000 tonnes of methanol, up 10.3% year on year and 11.8% month on month and sold 173,000 tonnes, up 15.3% year on year and 17.7% month on month.
