China produced 120 million tonnes of coke during January-March, rising 3.8% year on year, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
March production came in at 41.78 million tonnes, 3.1% higher compared with a year ago. Daily production was calculated at 1.35 million tonnes in March.
China's crude steel production during the first quarter was registered at 260 million tonnes, rising 6.1% year on year. Output in March stood at 95.75 million tonnes, 6.9% higher than a year ago, with daily output at 3.09 million tonnes.
Pig iron production rose 7.6% year on year to 220 million tonnes during January-March. Production in March came in at 78.07 million tonnes, up 7.3% year on year, with daily output at 2.52 million tonnes.
China's finished steel production climbed 5.8% year on year to 330 million tonnes during January-March, rising 5.8% from the preceding year. In March, the output was up 8.1% from the year-ago level to 130 million tonnes, with daily production of 4.11 million tonnes.
