The National Energy Administration has called on major miners and main production areas to speed up the implementation of mart-mining' technologies to benefit production safety and efficiency, according to a statement of the NEA on April 20.
Up to now, 1,043 intelligent coal mining faces and 1,277 driving faces have been built in China, among which 363 intelligent coal mining faces and 239 driving faces have been built in the initiative batch of demonstration, according to the NEA.
Smart mining uses unmanned vehicles and remotely-controlled technology to automate the mining process and may involve the use of specialized robotics, automated ore processing systems, and other technologies to reduce the need for manual labor. Therefore, it will help reduce the risk of mining accidents, increase mining efficiency, and extract resources in a more cost-effective and sustainable manner.
