Germany's hard coal imports stood at 3.24 million tonnes in January, down 10.12% year on year, preliminary data from German Statistics Bureau showed.
The imports increased 8.80% from December, the data showed.
The value of the hard coal imports reached €777 million (about $845 million), rising 14.81% from a year earlier yet down 5.03% from a month ago; the average import price was calculated at €239.96/t, up 27.74% year on year but down 12.71% month on month.
In 2022, Germany's hard coal imports totaled 35.28 million tonnes, an 8.8% rise year on year; value of the imports surged 181.62% to €11.11 billion.
