Australia earned A$9.59 billion ($6.43 billion) in January from coal exports, dipping 0.64% from a year ago and down 20.6% on the month, showed data from Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The value of coal exports to Japan was A$4.63 billion, falling 15.93% year on year but jumping 46.09% month on month, taking up 48% of the total, and the value of coal shipped to India fell 19.69% year on year and 29.11% month on month to A$1.44 billion.
Coal exports to South Korea were worth A$1.08 billion, down 31.69% from December and 31.19% from a year ago, and that to China's Taiwan and Vietnam respectively came in at A$0.9 billion (-7.5% MoM, +3.44% YoY) and A$0.39 billion (+26.61% MoM, +13.98% YoY).
