Daily crude steel output at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.15 million tonnes during March 1-10, falling 3.08% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 1.92 million tonnes during the given period, dropping 4.13% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel decreased 10.39% from ten days ago to 2.03 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily production of crude steel is estimated to fall 2.51% from ten days ago to 2.62 million tonnes. The daily pig iron and steel products output is calculated at 2.36 million and 3.65 million tonnes, falling 3.69% and 5.51% respectively.
As of March 10, CISA key member steel mills held 17.7 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, 1.63% or 284,300 tonnes higher than late-February but falling 1.8% or 325,400 tonnes compared with the same period in the preceding month. The volume was 6.13% or 1.02 million tonnes higher compared with the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
