Indonesian state-run Bukit Asam targets to produce 41 million tonnes of coal in 2023, rising 11% year on year.
The company produced 37.10 million tonnes of coal and sold 31.60 million tonnes in 2022, including 12.50 million tonnes for exports, according to Arsal Ismail, CEO of the company.
Driven by the surge in energy demand and global coal prices following the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Bukit Asam achieved a net profit of 12.6 trillion rupees ($817 million) last year, a year-on-year surge of 159% and hitting the highest in the record.
The company set its coal sales guidance at 41.20 million tonnes in 2023.
