Canada's coal output in December 2022 fell
for the fourth consecutive month, to the lowest level since January 2022, data
from Statistics Canada showed.
The country produced 2.88 million tonnes of coal in December, down 7% or 217,000 tonnes year on year. This came also 2.1% or 63,000 tonnes lower than November.
The country's coal output totaled 39.42 million tonnes in 2022, falling 5.7% from the same period last year.
