China Coal Xinji Energy Co., Ltd produced 9.83 million tonnes of commercial coal in the first half of this year, rising 13.67% from the preceding year, said the company in an announcement on July 13.
Raw coal production in the company during this period reached 11.24 million tonnes, a 3.06% year-on-year increase.
The company sold 10.14 million tonnes of commercial coal in January-June, up 25.70% compared to the year-ago level.
Of this, 8.28 million tonnes of coal was sold to other provinces and regions, increasing 40.09% on the year, it said.
Sales revenue from its core coal business stood at 5.47 billion yuan from January to June, 17.56% higher than a year earlier. Its gross profit from coal sales amounted to 2.13 billion yuan, up 7.97% year on year.
In terms of power business, the company's electricity generation in the first half of the year was 4.10 TWh, down 17.42% from a year ago, with grid-connected power of 3.86 TWh, falling 17.70% from the previous year. The on-grid average price saw a slight year-on-year decrease of 0.29% to 0.4063 yuan/KWh.
The company's power business is all concentrated in Anhui province and consists entirely of thermal power generation.
The company, jointly operated by SDIC Coal Co., Ltd, Guohua Energy Co., Ltd and Anhui Xinji Coal Power Co., Ltd, was listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange on December 19, 2007 and renamed as China Coal Xinji Energy Co., Ltd from previous SDIC Xinji Energy Co., Ltd.
