Northwestern China's Qinghai province generated 14.86 TWh of power in January-February, down 3.8% year on year, local energy administration data showed.
Hydropower output fell 18.3% on the year to 4.84 TWh, thermal power rose 6.4% to 3.54 TWh, solar down 3.6% to 4.01 TWh and wind up 21.2% to 2.47 TWh, the data showed.
In January-February, the province's power consumption increased 12.5% to 16.42 TWh.
Specifically, for non-residential segment, the primary industries – mainly the agricultural sector — consumed 0.02 TWh of electricity, down 0.3% from a year earlier. The secondary industries – mainly the industrial sector – used 14.37 TWh, up 13.2% year on year, and the tertiary industries – mainly the service sector – registered a 6.9% rise to 1.11 TWh.
Residential consumption rose 8.1% to 0.92 TWh in the first two months.
