Coal inventory of 58 power plants with direct supply through railways within the coverage area of China Railway Shenyang Group, mainly in northeastern China, reached 8.79 million tonnes on June 25, rising 19.6% compared to last year, according to Liaoning Daily.
The inventory was available for 37 days of consumption, an increase of 54.2% year on year, it said.
It is reported that peak electricity demand occurred in many regions with the gradual temperature rises in northeastern China's Liaoning province, resulting in significant increases in coal consumption at power plants. Shenyang Group is committed to ensuring coal demand of power plants by fully organizing thermal coal transportation.
Shenyang has made every effort to ensure resource security and accelerate power coal turnover such as coordination with local government departments and upstream and downstream firms and strengthening transport organization, contributing to comprehensive control of the coal transportation and stocks demand.
