Jianghei dedicated railway, which was built to rail coal out from the west Heishan area in Zhunger base of northwestern China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, had transported a total of 10.04 million tonnes of coal as of 18:00 June 22, breaking the 10-million-tonne mark 51 days earlier than last year, according to Xinjiang Daily.
Jianghei line connects Wujiang railway at Jiangjunmiao station. Coal delivered from Heishan mining area through Jianghe railway can ship further out to the capital of Urumchi in the region. Before the dedicated line was put into operation, coal produced in Heishan area could only be transported via heavy-haul truck to the Jiangjunmiao station.
The line not only broke the bottleneck in coal transportation from the Heishan area, but also contributed to the outbound coal sales in neighboring mines in eastern Zhunger, greatly ensuring the energy supply in northwestern and southwestern regions.
Jianghei railway, with a total length of 57 kilometers and 4 stations, was officially launched on June 24, 2018. Since then, the total amount of coal transported has exceeded 60 million tonnes.
