Daily crude steel output at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.29 million tonnes during April 10-20, falling 1.38% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 2.02 million tonnes during the given period, decreasing 1.08% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel rose 0.93% from ten days ago to 2.2 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily production of crude steel is estimated to fall 1.21% from ten days ago to 2.95 million tonnes. The daily pig iron and steel products output is calculated at 2.46 million and 3.78 million tonnes, falling 0.74% but rising 0.12% respectively.
As of April 20, CISA key member steel mills held 18.54 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, 1.21% or 0.22 million tonnes higher than early-April but declining 2.2% or 0.42 million tonnes compared with the same period in the preceding month. The volume was 5.73% lower compared with the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
