China's 10 largest coal mining groups (in terms of production) produced 588.39 million tonnes of raw coal during January-March 2023, rising 20.03 million tonnes or 3.52% year on year, according to statistics released by China National Coal Association.
The volume represented 51.3% of China's total coal production over last year.
Total coal production of China's above-designated coal producers reached 1.15 billion tonnes during January-March 2023, a 5.5% rise year on year, with the growth accelerating 4.3 percentage points week on week. Daily production stood at 13.46 million tonnes over the first three months.
China's coal imports came in at 100 million tonnes during the first three months, rising 96.1% year on year.
