Haoji, the world's longest heavyload railway, has transported over 200 million tonnes of coal since it officially began operations in September 2019, helping safeguard China's energy security, according to state media CCTV.
As of March 28, 2023, the total coal transportation volume of the line had reached 201 million tonnes, CCTV reported.
The 1,814-kilometer railway connects Haolebaoji South railway station in Ordos of Inner Mongolia autonomous region with Ji'an railway station in Jiangxi province, and passes through Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Hubei and Hunan provinces.
Haoji railway enhances the coal transportation efficiency from northern production areas to the consumption areas in the central and southern China.
