Coal production of 2023 in Russia is estimated to increase 1.5% and coal exports to rise up to 2%, said Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov in an interview with TASS on the eve of the Russia-Africa summit.
Production volumes are currently up 1.2% and exports are also on the increase, he added. By the end of this year, both coal output and exports in the country are expected to witness a small growth.
From January to June 2023, Russia produced a total 213 million tonnes of coal, 1.49% higher than the year-ago level, showed data from Russian Federal State Statistics Service.
