Ganqimandu border crossing, China's largest inland road port on the border of Mongolia, imported 18.58 million tonnes of coal in the year to July 26, surging 191.08% year on year, according to the port's official Wechat account.
The port also imported 488,100 tonnes of copper concentrate, up 6.61% from a year ago. The total cargo imports reached 19.20 million tonnes during the same period, marking a 174.56% year-on-year increase. Cargo exports during this period came in at 133,000 million tonnes, data showed.
The cargo throughput through the port during the period has exceeded the total registered in 2022.
Total cargo throughput amounted to 188 million tonnes by the end of 2022 since the start of its operation 31 years ago, bringing a total trade volume of 226.2 billion yuan and creating 33.46 billion yuan in customs revenue for China.
The port has continued to promote its construction in recent years, effectively improving customs clearance efficiency. Local authority will make more efforts to seek further development of the port for the country's northbound progress.
