Iron ore exports to China from Australia's Port Hedland rose 2.98% from a year earlier to 45.6 million tonnes in June, according to the Pilbara Ports Authority.
It was also up 12.54% from May. The shipments to China accounted for 88% of the port's total iron ore exports that month.
Port Hedland is one of the world's largest iron ore export ports, used by three of the world's top four iron ore miners - BHP Group, Fortescue Metals Group and Roy Hill Holdings.
In June, Port Hedland's total iron ore exports reached 51.93 million tonnes, up 4.34% on the year and 7.81% on the month, data showed.
Total exports in the first six months of the year fell 0.46% year on year to 276 million tonnes. Shipments to China declined 0.1% to 237 million tonnes, accounting for 86% of the total.
