Huichun land port on China's border with Russia has completed construction of a coal industrial park with static coal storage capacity of 1 million tonnes and annual throughput reaching 10 million tonnes, local media reported.
The main project covers an area of 137,000 square meters and a total construction area of 98,000 square meters. Two coal storage sheds are built with a total length of 1,191 meters and a span of 79.6 meters, as well as auxiliary buildings such as coal quality laboratory, substation, and coal slime water treatment room.
After it is fully commissioned, the coal industrial park will mainly use truck-railway combined transportation to facilitate coal storage and trade in Jilin province or even the whole northeastern region.
Coal imported from Russia is expected to be transported through the Sino-Russia Huichun-Makhalino international railway and discharged at the industrial park, helping to ensure energy supply, stabilize coal prices and enhance power and heating demand.
