China Coal Energy Feb commercial coal output up 11.3% on yr, sales up 7.5%

China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 10.6 million tonnes of commercial coal in February, up 11.3% from the preceding year, said the company in a statement released on March 20.


The February output, however, was 3.5% lower than a month ago, according to the statement.



The company's commercial coal sales rose by 7.5% on the year but fell 3% month on month to 21.81 million tonnes last month.


Sales of self-produced coal increased 13.1% on the year but fell 3.4% from the preceding month to 10.36 million tonnes.



The company's commercial coal production reached 21.59 million tonnes in the first two months of 2023, up 7.6% year on year; sales stood at 20.29 million tonnes, up 1.7% year on year.
