Daily crude steel production at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.25 million tonnes during July 11-20, rising 0.33% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily output of pig iron averaged 2.01 million tonnes during the same period, inching down 0.56% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel increased 3.34% from ten days ago to 2.17 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily output of crude steel is estimated to pick up by 0.27% from ten days ago to 3.04 million tonnes. The daily pig iron production is calculated at 2.56 million tonnes, falling 0.46% compared to ten days earlier, and daily finished steel output is estimated at 4.06 million tonnes, up 1.94%.
As of July 20, CISA key member steel mills held 15.67 million tonnes of finished steel in stock, 1.45% or 229,900 tonnes lower than early July and down 3.41% or 553,600 tonnes compared with the same period in June. The volume was 17.67% or 3.36 million tonnes lower than the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
