China Coal Energy May commercial coal output up 16.3% on yr, sales flat

China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 11.11 million tonnes of commercial coal in May, up 16.3% from the preceding year, said the company in a statement released on June 14.

 

The May output, however, was 0.1% lower than a month ago, according to the statement.

 

 

The company's commercial coal sales rose by 11.4% on the year but fell 10.4% month on month to 22.78 million tonnes last month.

 

Sales of self-produced coal increased 3.6% on the year but fell 2% from the preceding month to 10.24 million tonnes.

 

The company's commercial coal production reached 55.53 million tonnes in the first five months of 2023, up 12.9% year on year; sales stood at 122.98 million tonnes, up 6.8% year on year.
