Mongolia exported 2.24 million tonnes of iron ore during January-May, rising 59.46% or 834,700 tonnes from the previous year, showed latest data from the Mongolian Customs General Administration (MCGA).
The total export value increased by 37.75% on the year to $195 million during the first five months, data showed.
China was the only destination of Mongolian iron ore during the period.
MCGA didn't release the specific figure for last month. Sxcoal calculated the exports at 488,200 tonnes based on the overall exports published by the customs authority, up 26.36% year on year and 9.44% on the month.
The iron ore exports amounted to $44.84 million in May, with average price at $91.85/t, down $11.02/t from a year ago and $0.33/t from a month earlier, data showed.
