Daily crude steel output at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.21 million tonnes during April 21-30, falling 3.63% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 2.03 million tonnes during the given period, inching up 0.41% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel rose 3.01% from ten days ago to 2.27 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily production of crude steel is estimated to fall 2.55% from ten days ago to 2.88 million tonnes. The daily pig iron output is calculated at 2.46 million tonnes, rising 0.24%, while daily finished steel production is estimated at 3.78 million tonnes, down 0.18%.
As of end of April, CISA key member steel mills held 18.11 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, 2.32% or 0.43 million tonnes lower than mid-April but rising 4.97% or 0.86 million tonnes compared with the same period in the preceding month. The volume was 0.12% higher compared with the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
