China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, saw its polyolefin production fall 15.8% on the year and 10% month on month to 117,000 tonnes in February, the company said in a report on March 20.
The polyolefin sales in the month surged 25.5% year on year and 44.6% month on month to 133,000 tonnes.
Polyethylene sales were 74,000 tonnes, soaring 48% year on year and 85% month on month. Sale of polypropylene rose 5.4% from a year ago and 13.5% from a month ago to 59,000 tonnes.
The production of polyethylene and polypropylene was 59,000 tonnes and 58,000 tonnes, respectively.
The company produced 161,000 tonnes of urea in February, up 0.6% year on year but falling 9.6% month on month, and urea sales fell 15% on the year but increased 1.5% on the month to 204,000 tonnes.
In February, the company produced 153,000 tonnes of methanol, down 22.7% year on year and 12.6% month on month and sold 147,000 tonnes, down 24.6% year on year and 21.4% month on month.
