Five workers were trapped and on dead after a coal and gas outburst accident occurred in southwestern China's Guizhou province on March 19, according to an announcement from local governmental website.
Rescue work is still underway.
The coal mine called Guli is one of the large mines in the general plan of the Qianxi mining area approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. It is an under-construction coal mine that was planned to contribute to the supply to the Qianxi Power Plant, a key project for west-to-east power transmission.
