Daily crude steel output at key member firms of China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) stood at 2.25 million tonnes during March 11-20, rising 4.71% compared with the previous ten days, the CISA data showed.
Daily production of pig iron averaged 1.97 million tonnes during the given period, increasing 2.34% from ten days ago. Daily output of finished steel rose 5.54% from ten days ago to 2.14 million tonnes.
Nationwide, daily production of crude steel is estimated to climb 4.31% from ten days ago to 2.73 million tonnes. The daily pig iron and steel products output is calculated at 2.41 million and 3.73 million tonnes, rising 2.27% and 2.25% respectively.
As of March 20, CISA key member steel mills held 18.96 million tonnes of finished steel stocks, 7.08% or 1.25 million tonnes higher than early-March but falling 2.93% or 572,600 tonnes compared with the same period in the preceding month. The volume was 10.7% or 1.83 million tonnes higher compared with the same period in the preceding year, data showed.
