Kazakhstan is considering temporarily suspending coal exports by road for six months to secure domestic demand, according to Kazinform News Agency.
The export of hard coal, briquettes made from hard coal, coal powder and lignite by road from the territory of Kazakhstan will be banned for six months, according to the draft order published by the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development on the portal for public discussion.
The move is to prevent potential shortages in the coal supply to civilian users and utilities and to maintain the nation's energy security.
It is reported that the content will be open for public discussion until March 14, 2023.
