China's coal imports totaled 39.26 million tonnes in July, jumping 66.9% or 15.74 million tonenes from a year ago, showed data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) on August 8.
The July figure was 1.53% or 611,000 tonnes lower than 39.87 million tonnes in June, data showed.
Value of the imports totaled $3.87 billion in July, rising 2.2% year on year but falling 13.87% month on month. Sxcoal calculated the average import price at $98.5/t, down $62.35/t year on year and $14.11/t month on month.
China imported a total of 261.18 million tonnes of coal in January-July, up 88.6% on the year. The imports value amounted to $31.56 billion, soaring 41.4% on the year, the GAC data showed.
