Coal shipments from Australia's Gladstone port fell 5.6% in May from a year earlier to 4.97 million tonnes, but up 1.3% on the month, data from the Gladstone Ports Corporation showed.
Gladstone port, the world's fourth-largest coal exporting terminal, shipped 1.66 million tonnes to Japan in May, up 15.4% year on year but down 10.3% from April.
