Coal production of Mongolia came in at 5.85 million tonnes in April this year, surging 339.49% year on year but dropping 1.52% month on month, showed data from the National Statistical Office of Mongolia.
The country produced 22.76 million tonnes of coal in the first four months of 2023, up 250.04% from the preceding year.
Mongolia's iron ore production was 307,700 tonnes in April, down 71.23% on the year but up 0.46% on the month. This included 188,500 tonnes of iron sand, down 76.87% year on year but up 0.69% from March, and 119,200 tonnes of iron concentrate, falling 53.18% from a year ago but rising 0.08% month on month.
Production of iron ore in Mongolia totaled 1.22 million tonnes during first four months, slumping 62.78% year on year. Iron sand output was 771,100 tonnes, down 69.58% year on year and iron concentrate production was 450,600 tonnes, down 39.68%.
