China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., the country's largest listed coal producer, reported its commercial coal output was down 2.6% year on year and 4.4% on the month to 26.1 million tonnes in April, according to the company's monthly operation report on May 16.
Its coal sales fell 0.5% from the year prior and 6.6% month on month to 36.6 million tonnes last month, data showed.
In January-April, the company's commercial coal production totaled 106.2 million tonnes, inching down 1.3% year on year, while sales were 144.2 million tonnes, rising 1.2% year on year.
The giant miner's coal vessel loading at Huanghua port totaled 18.2 million tonnes in April, down 1.1% year on year but up 1.1% month on month; volumes at the company's Tianjin coal wharf were 4.0 million tonnes, up 21.2% year on year and 2.6% on the month.
Meanwhile, the firm's power generation totaled 14.9 TWh in April, rising 15.9% year on year, sending the total to 66.6 TWh during January-April, rising 11.7% on the year.
Its power sales were 13.9 TWh in April, a 15.7% rise on the year, with total volume at 62.7 TWh over the first four months, rising 11.9% year on year.
