China Coal Energy Co., Ltd, the listed arm of China National Coal Group, produced 11.12 million tonnes of commercial coal in April, up 21.8% from the preceding year, said the company in a statement released on May 16.
The April output, however, was 5% or 0.59 million tonnes lower than a month ago, according to the statement.
The company's commercial coal sales rose by 11.4% on the year but fell 11.8% month on month to 25.43 million tonnes last month.
Sales of self-produced coal increased 10.4% on the year but fell 8.97% from the preceding month to 10.45 million tonnes.
The company's commercial coal production reached 44.42 million tonnes in the first four months of 2023, up 12.1% year on year; sales stood at 100.20 million tonnes, up 8.5% year on year.
