Vietnam's coal production rebounded aggressively in February, with year-on-year growth over 20%, official data showed.
The country produced 3.84 million tonnes of coal in February, up 22.41% year on year and 18.51% month on month, showed data from the country's General Statistics Office.
In January-February, the country produced a total 7.08 million tonnes of coal, up 2% from 6.94 million tonnes from a year ago.
March's production is expected to reach 4.52 million tonnes, down 5.73% on the year but rising 17.79% on the month, bringing the expected production during the first three months to 11.61 million tonnes, which is still 1.16% lower than the same period in 2022.
The bulk of coal production in Vietnam is supplied for power generation, cement making and other industrial use.
