Southeastern China's Fujian province urged key coal-fired power plants to boost coal stocks to no less than 20 days' worth of use in the first quarter, according to a work plan for the first quarter of 2023 issued by the provincial development and reform commission.
The provincial economic planner also vowed to eliminate low-stock phenomenon, namely 15-day-below inventory at utilities, through dynamic monotoring. In the meantime, it will continue to promote the signing of medium and long-term coal supply contracts for 2023.
Fujian will also boost the power supply from major power projects, including the Zhangzhou #1-2 nuclear power units and the Huadian Kemen Phase III coal power project.
The province will keep improving its natural gas storage capacity, and accelerate the construction of the Zhangzhou Liquefied Natural Gas Receiving Terminal No. 3 tank, Putian Hanas liquefied Natural Gas Receiving Terminal and petrochina Fujian LNG Terminal projects.
It will promote the signing of medium - and long-term natural gas contracts to ensure a stable supply.
